The Festy Experience

Posted: October 10, 2012 in Industry Events, photos

Venture Sports joined Klean Kanteen at The Festy, hosted by The Infamous Stringdusters in Nelson County, VA. Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge,  Nelson Co. claims the distinction of having more breweries than stoplights and the property owned by the Stringdusters made the perfect venue. We were providing free water at the event and everyone had their Klean Kanteen Stainless Pint Cups. Here are a few photos form the event:

Introducing OeTZI3300

Inspired by Öetzi the Iceman circa 3300BC

Öetzi the Iceman was found in September 1991 in the Ötztal Alps on the border between Austria and Italy. He is Europe’s oldest natural human mummy, and has offered an unprecedented view of Copper Age Europeans.

His mummified body, unveiled from his frozen state by global warming, was wearing nothing more than the basic essentials he needed for survival: gear for protection and warmth, as well as a unique pair of shoes.

Inspired by the simple yet functional design of Oetzi’s shoes, our need to be environmentally responsible and promote the art of well being, OeTZI3300 is remastering the basic essentials from the past in a fresh and relevant way. Our gear is created with the same understated complexities that run through Oetzi’s DNA.

Scenes from OR

We were out at the 25th annual Trail Days festival in Damascus, VA this weekend. There is a very good reason that Damascus is known as the friendliest town on the Appalachian Trail – the town pulls out all of the stops for this festival and welcomes through-hikers with open arms year round. I was in Damascus at Mojoes Trailside Coffee two months ago and the entire town (there are only 1,066 full time residents) was talking about the first through-hiker who just walked into town that morning.

Anyway, here is a short photo collection of our time in Damascus this weekend!

This is the first time we’ve been to the Atlanta Shoe Market and I have to say that it was a raging success. By far the best show we’ve been to all year. Retailers were in an upbeat mood and there were a lot of folks looking for new brands. Here’s a few shots of the booth!
